Kits are scale models of a “Bascule” bridge - a drawbridge that has a counterweight that continuously balances the bridge span. It is modeled after The Jefferson Street Bridge located in Joliet, Illinois, and is one of the four Bascule bridges that cross the Des Plaines river. Quick and easy to build, kits contain precision laser-cut parts, all hardware, adjustable counterweight and roller platform, and are an excellent tool for teaching physics and engineering. Assembled bridge measures 12-3/4" x 4-3/4" x 5-1/4". 24 kits per pack. Grades 6-12.
