Epidural Injection Simulator
PRODUCT DETAILS
The EIS (Epidural Injection Simulator) is designed for learning, practicing, and experiencing the most common aspects of the epidural procedure - principally, simulating the feel of a needle passing through different tissue layers when performing an epidural. The simulator provides feedback to users on their technique and a method of rapid, accurate skill assessment. The realistic appearance and lifelike patient anatomy offers anatomical features such as vertebrae and iliac crests to provide tactile feedback during the epidural procedure. It also simulates loss of resistance using air or saline techniques with 16- and 18-gauge needles, including simulated injection of fluid and dural taps. The control unit features graphical interface with real-time visual feedback indicating the needle progression through each tissue layer; settings for realistic patient variance in tissue density and depth characteristics, including pregnancy and obesity and random scenarios; settings for simulating 16- and 18-gauge needles and air and saline techniques; and timer function. Includes the EIS simulation unit, control unit, data cable, power supply, custom EIS loss-of-resistance device, and operating manual.
