With this cooperative learning program, students face four challenging rescue missions. Role-playing scientific experts, students figure out where their missions take place and how to complete them, spending as little money as possible. Students work together and must draw on scientific content to finish each mission. Features a video library with additional movies and stills, collaborative scientific team roles, and team report for printing and viewing. Students will use scientific facts and measurements to make decisions; understand different scientific roles; and communicate scientifically by viewing, reading, and discussing. Students investigate ocean ecosystems across the globe while role-playing environmental scientists, geologists, marine biologists, and oceanographers. Includes CD-ROM, teacher’s guide with lesson plans, 4 student reference books, worksheets, and hands-on activities. Meets State and National Standards.
