Demonstrate the effects of density on current flow! Differences in density - caused by variations in temperature and salinity - determine our ocean’s currents. Using this durable, clear, acrylic model, your students will simulate the movement of warm and cold water between polar and equatorial regions. They’ll also model the current movement which results from density gradients. In the process, students will learn about convection currents, weather fronts, and how ocean currents affect our climate. Model includes segmented compartments which allows separation of water of different densities. Includes comprehensive teacher and student guides with a variety of activities. 18" L x 3" W x 8" H.
