Caring for people with chronic disease is no game… but caregivers can now learn strategies for improving care and reduce their stress by playing this game. It teaches creative problem-solving and communication skills through the interactive “play therapy” approach to education. Like other board games using dice to progress around game squares, players can earn points; but in this game, points are earned for brainstorming with other players and identifying caregiving strategies that can improve the care of persons with chronic conditions. Players also learn how to cope with activities of daily living. Game cards contain real-life scenarios including some of the ethical dilemmas, daily care demands, disease processes, and family issues of chronic conditions. Players who land on a “Stop Stress” square learn stress relieving tips including how to find appropriate resources. Game cards not included.
