Respirator Cautions and Warnings

IMPORTANT:

Before using these respirators, you must determine the following:
• The type of contaminant(s) for which the respirator is being selected.
• The concentration level of that contaminant.
• If the respirator can be properly fitted on the wearer's face. All respirator instructions, warnings, and use and time limitations must also be read and understood by the wearer before use.
• If the environment in which the respirator is used contains oil aerosols.

USE LIMITATIONS:

• These respirators do not supply oxygen. Do not use in atmospheres containing less than 19.5% oxygen such as manure storage facilities and freshly filled silos.
• Do not use when concentrations of contaminants are immediately dangerous to life and health, are unknown, or when concentrations are greater than 10 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) or according to specific OSHA standards or applicable government regulations, whichever is lower.
• Do not alter, abuse, or misuse these respirators.
• Do not use with beards or other facial hair or other conditions that prevent a good seal between the face and the face seal (or edge) of the respirator.
• There are three newly established filter series:
N=Not to be used in oil-containing environments.
R=Oil-resistant. For use in oil- and non-oil-containing environments, time use restrictions may apply.
P=Oil proof. For use in oil- and non-oil-containing environments, manufacturer time use restrictions apply.
• Within each filter series there are three levels of approved efficiency:

  N R P
95% N95 R95 P95
99% N99 R99 P99
99.97% (100) N100 R100 P100

TIME USE LIMITATIONS:

WARNING!

Respirators help reduce exposure to certain airborne contaminants. Misuse may result in sickness or death. Before use, the wearer must read and understand User Instructions provided as a part of product packaging. Time use limitations may apply.
